Introduction
Seaweed are a microscopic algae in the sea and on the coast. Algae is a good source of chemical products, energy, food and good medicinal herbs used in a personal, industrial and agricultural application. Algae is “medical food of the 21st century” because they heal many serious diseases such as goiter, cancer and other bone replacement therapy. Breeding algae is an algae cultivation process to handle basic batches. The largest algae are Euueuma spp., Kappaphecus Alvaesil, Gracilia spp., Saccharina japonica, Pyropia Pinnatanate, Pudropia spp. And Sargassum Fusiform. Euueuma and k.alvaueziam developed for Carrageenan (a gelling agent); Gracilia is grown for Agar. Countries producing most algae are China, Indonesia and the Philippines. Algae agriculture is a negative carbon harvest with high potential to minimize climate change. #seaweedfarming #seaweedfarmingdetails #seaweedfarmingbenefits
Site selection

•The selection of areas for algae agriculture is carried out in the shallow coastal waters of maritime states where the pipe and bamboo fillets will be kept in clusters.

• Water bottom must be stone / sand and transparent.

•The salinity of sea water must not be less than 30 ppt.

•The essential temperature is 26-30 ° C. The area must have low tide and a minimum water depth of 1.0 m.

Components
The components of installation of agricultural friends and standard wheels must be prepared with bamboo and measures 3 × 3 m. Friends can be fixed or fleet for free.
•Selection of suitable algae The most suitable algae species are red algae Gracilariadura, Gracilaris edulis, etc. They grow well on pipe nets and floating bamboo rafts.
•Yield algae take 45-60 days to grow well. The required seed rate is 50-60 kg per raft and 45 rafts can be used at a time. The total yield per seaweed cycle is 27,000 kg.
•Seeds are tied to the bamboo raft with ropes. The fishing net is tied underneath the seedling to protect against impact and the bamboo slats are also made rectangular for support and it is tied to the anchor.
Harvesting

The maintenance of the rafts is done by farmers. One person can build a raft in a day and harvesting can be done every 45-60 days at a rate of 250kg/raft. The obtained seaweed is dried on a clean surface and supplied to the seaweed processing industry.

Benefits
•The edible part of red seaweed is carrageenan which is widely used in pickles, dairy products and meat, in ice cream mixes, jellies, etc.
•Chemicals such as alginic acid, iodine fucin, mannitol and laminarin extracted from brown seaweed have a commercial basis.
•The green algae extracts Enteromorpha, corium, ulva and Caulerpa are used as a fresh salad or cooked as a vegetable with rice.

•Green algae are popular in the summer and used on beaches. The remaining mass of seaweed is used as compost, which is used experimentally to grow tomato plants on different soils.
•Ascophyllum species, specifically Elklonia and Fucus, act as fertilizers and soil conditioners and are also sold as soil additives.
•Seaweed like Ascophyllum nodule can be used as animal feed because after drying they are ground into a fine powder.
•A small amount of algae is also used as biomass for fuel. Once harvested, it is converted to methane through anaerobic fermentation.

Current status in India

•There are 844 species of seaweed in India. Including 434 species of red algae, 194 species of brown algae and 216 species of green algae.

•Seaweed farming is a profitable business that requires low maintenance technology and low installation costs. It develops in a short time.

•Seaweed is mainly found on the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Gujarat and around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep Island. There are abundant seaweed beds around Mumbai, Goa, Kanwar, Ratnagiri, Varkala, Andhra Pradesh and Chilka in Orissa. #seaweedfarmingstatus #seaweedfarmingcurrentstatusinindia

Conclusion
Seaweed is in demand because it is actually very useful in many ways. They are used to remove toxic metals from industrial wastewater, fish feed, animal feed and many other fields. Seaweed farming has great potential to help improve the socio-economic level of the community and the country. It is also beneficial in curing many diseases like diabetes, heart disease, thyroid functioning, gut health support, etc.
